Is there an option to let me delete mail from the server if and *only* if
it's deleted on POPPeeper?

I want to use PP to read, but I don't want to have to delete both from PP
and from the server.

What's your problem?
If you delete a message from the server, it will vanish from
POPPeeper's list after the next synchronization.

If you remove a message in POPPeeper it will be wiped from the
server at the next synchronization.

No, it doesn't for me - I may have changed that setting when I first set
up POPPeeper, but now I can't figure out how to unchange it.

You can't do that.

Understand that PP is meant to fast-screen your mail boxes, BEFORE you download
the good mails with a proper client. It is not meant as a real client.

With most any full-featured client, you can get your mails into the client's
inbox, and deleted from the server.

With PP the most you could do is to export the mails locally and import them
into whatever else, and delete from the server. Not very convenient for large
volumes.

Try This:
select

Options
Set Options...

General
Check...Enable Advanced Options
Check...Delete Mail Immediately

Select: Headers...Default Retrieval Option

See if this what you want...

Yes, I may have to move to a different sort of app. What I'd like is to
be able to read them all, delete from the server the ones I don't want,
and delete *all* from the reader once they've been read.

I miss Calypso.

When a message is deleted from POP Peeper, it is deleted from the
server. So it sounds like your email client is not deleting messages
after they have been retrieved.

OE: Tools / Accounts / Properties / Advanced / Uncheck "leave a copy of
messages on server"
Thunderbird: Tools / Account Settings / Server Settings / Uncheck
"leave messages on server"

Isn't Calypso still around renamed Courier which presently has a free
version??? Or maybe someone should wake me up.

iggy

It's still around, but it doesn't support SST and I can't quite figure
out the configuration for using STunnel with it.

It's really annoying to be brain-dead.
