Greetings,

I have a problem with my Outlook 2002 SP2 under Windows
XP. Since yesterday I always get a web
page 'www.popnav.com' that appears when I open my inbox.
The messages in the inbox show up for a fraction of a
second and then the web page appears. I have scanned for
viruses, used a spyblocker program and tried the fix the
problem by re-installing Outlook (option fix). Nothing
helped.

Any clue how to get rid of this junk.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Dirk

It appears you were not careful when visiting wares sites. I suggest using
an updated virus scanner and AdAware as well as SpyBot to clean your system.

Tsk, tsk! Warez and Porn = bad computing experience for the naive.

Dirk,

Do you possibly have a folder called ClearSearch
in your Program Files folder?

Brad

Sorry Milly, I know this is COMMON to porn and warez sites but I've
seen it installed from MANY other sites too, including half decent
shareware, they must be paying good impression bucks. I've removed
this from the most secure networks as well as the most hideous users
that go anywhere anytime and wonder how they get these things?!?

It appears he has something anyone could
get regardless of where they visited.

Also, it seems that Ad-aware, Spybot, NAV,
McAfee and Trend will not detect this
hijacker.

Tsk, tsk! "Savvy" people with no solutions =
bad computing experiences for the naive.
