I configured outlook with SMTP and POP3 (cable modem).
Sending is not a problem. Will not receive. It prompts
for my password. I have tried to modify the registry
(Protected Storage System Provider) but the information
in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 290684 do not
provide instruction for XP-home edition.
I don't want to make changes to my registry without
verifying first.
I don't understand why my POP3 and SMTP setup are
preventing me from receiving email. Should they be the
same (mail.optonline.net)? Or different? Values are set
at 110 and 25, respectively.
Please advise with info to (e-mail address removed).
Thanks all.

You can usually find the mail settings for your account on the ISPs home
page. I would suggest checking there first for any reliable information.

They may be the same or they may be diffrent. You'll have to ask your ISP.
