Does anyone know of a GOOD free program that is out there without a
price tag on it, thanks in advance.

There was a time when this was a popular topic in this group. Now it is
very rare that popups are mentioned.

Lets start by assuming that the reason that you are seeing these nasties
is because you are using Internet Explorer. You could check in Internet
Options to see if you have popup blocking enabled for IE. If this option
doesn't exist on your computer, visit
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx to get the latest
Service Pack for IE on Windows XP. If you are using an older Windows OS
you will have to install a third party popup blocker like Bayden's Popup
Popper http://bayden.com/ .

I prefer to use Firefox http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ . When
used in conjunction with the AdBlock
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=10 and the AdBlock
Filterset.G Updater
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1136 extensions,
almost no advertisements (popup or banner) make it through.

Thanks for the info, I'll visit the site and see if there is an
explorer update, I don't want to upgrade XP to SP2 becouse of some of
the programs I run.

I need to have explorer as well, thanks
OK...

So install the IEView extension so you can open IE for the sites you
absolutely have no other choice for.
