Pop-up List

When I go to certain sites and click on a box, a recent
history of what I've typed in that box before appears.

e.g. Using Altavista, when I click on the box to type in
the thing I want to search, a list appears below
containing all the past words I've searched before... My
question is, how do I erase off such lists?

Have you tried IE-Tools-Internet Options-Content-AutoComplete?

Try using the down arrow on your keyboard to select the
text, then delete. Do this for each one you don't want to
reappear and they will go away. Or, a shut-down and
restart will clear it sometimes for some sites.
