Pop up closes by itself

Hello there!

For the life of me, I tried to find similar issues from Google
search to no avail.

Every post was on how to stop pop ups from "opening", but
my issue is to keep them "open" until I close them.

I am on Yahoo home page, I click on a link from "In the News"
section, and the home page changes to new page with the news.
Now, I click on a thumbnail view of picture regarding the news,
and it is supposed to open a larger view of the picture with some
writings.

Well it does, but a fraction of a second later it closes by itself!
I have Google Toolbar, but I have enabled "allow popups from this page".

Some thing else causes this larger popup view to close and I can't
figure out what?

Sorry, but I forgot to mention I am on
W2K & IE 6 with all the latest patches.

Hi,
This is probably being caused by a third-party program- not Internet
Explorer.

Do you have the Yahoo toolbar installed? Turning off it's pop-up blocker may
not be enough. Uninstall it from add/remove programs if it's installed.

Or, the ad-blocking feature of Ad-aware Pro will sometimes allow a window to
open briefly before closing it.
