Pop Up "CANVAS DOES NOT ALLOW DRAWING IN THIS AREA"

For the past three nights around 9 PM CDT, the computer starts a musical
"GONG" and a popup up repeatdily comes up with the message CANVAS DOES NOT
ALLOW DRAWING IN THIS AREA. Just installed XP version I had for about 18
months in file cabinet Had to wipe hard drive clean and start over again.
Have not added any programs that I did not have on computer before crash.

Any body else have this happen or know what is happening???

The exact timing suggests that it may be run by a scheduled task or at system
startup. Check for odd apps at "All Programs>Accessories>System
Tools>Scheduled Tasks". Or go to "Start>Run..." and type in "msconfig" and
goto "Startup" tab and uncheck unwanted progs, be careful though! As a last
resort, uninstall any unwanted programs.

I am not some Microsoft guy. I was just trying to help. I disclaim any
consequences.

But something else may have added programs...

Have you been surfing to nasty sites that might have downloaded some
malware?
