Some clue as to which pop-up/ad blockers you are using could be of use....
Why can't you just close the program(s)?

It would help if you told us what the blockers are. Can't read your mind!

Greetings --

Unless you see fit to tell which specific pop-up and ad blockers
_you've_ installed on your own PC, there's very little we can do to
help. Sadly, neither WinXP nor Internet Explorer have such a feature.
At a wild guess, you might try checking your security settings for IE.

If you're running Norton Internet Security 2003, that might be the culprit.
Comcast put out a bulletin saying that the NIS ad blocker was preventing
users from accessing all the bells and whistles on the Comcast Web site.
Open NIS and remove the check mark from Ad Blocker.

the best pop up ad blocker I have found is the google toolbar! It works
well as far as being smart it does not block pop up calendars etc..
It tells you how many ads it has blocked and will make a sound when it does.
A simple click on the google toolbar disables it in case you need to see the
popup!
