POP Error message

I am getting th error message below when trying to set up my email account
for the first time; my firewall protection is disabled. I have followed the
troubleshooting instructions of adjusting the outgoing smtp and that has not
resolved the situation. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.


Account: 'Matt's Mail', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR not supported 38pf11540513aga.4', Port: 995, Secure(SSL):
Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18
 
Go to 'Tools|Accounts', select that mail account, 'Properties|Servers' and
uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."
