POP 3 Account and Exchange Account

I have both types of accounts on my notebook. When I'm away from the office I
turn the exchange account off-line.
When I send a message using the POP 3 account, which is the default, Outlook
2007 still insists on trying to send the message through the exchange
account, even though I select the POP3 account to send the message.

I have found that Exchange tends to take over as the default sender even
when told not to.
