hi all

wy deploy framework 3.5 SP1 (240MB) and today many pc's have no
grouppolicies. If we wait and restart pc grouppolicy is applied

why

Client: XP SP3 (1000 Clienst)
Server: 3 DC with Win2003 SP2
WSUS Win2003

Software Installation sometimes might take two reboots in order to get
fulfilled. This is because Windows XP has a "fast boot" feature which
actually doesn't wait for the network subsystem to be ready before the
logon mask is displayed. When that happens, current GP cannot be pulled
of the DC before computer/user logon.

Since software installation only occurs at foreground policy application
(on startup for computers/logon for users), another reboot (after the
network subsystem is ready and new GP is pulled off the DC) is necessary.

You can turn off Windows XP's "fast boot" with the following policy:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\
"Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon"

Cheers,
Florian
