discussion of Office 12 and especially PowerPoint in this 39-minute podcast
that you can find at.

http://www.thisweekintech.com/

Hosts: Leo Laporte, Steve Gibson, and John C. Dvorak.

PowerPoint-related topics beginning at about the 19-minute mark:

* Office 2006 abandons menu bars
* It's the same program under the hood - so the UI redesign is just a way of
interesting people in an upgrade
* Powerpoint really needs something new
* Leo prefers Apple's Keynote
* Edward R. Tufte is the guru of the visual representation of data
* Never give a speech without slides
* When is someone going to challenge Powerpoint?
* Ovation is a start

Hi Bob, thanks for the pointer to this. I'll give a listen later, but ...
PowerPoint-related topics beginning at about the 19-minute mark:

* Office 2006 abandons menu bars

WOW! They just worked this out, did they?
* It's the same program under the hood - so the UI redesign is just a way of
interesting people in an upgrade

Hmm. If they'd read any of the publically released info on file format they'd
know that they're deeply without a clue. I guess they haven't done their
homework.
* Powerpoint really needs something new

They really haven't done any research on this at all, have they?
* Leo prefers Apple's Keynote

When he can show me a presentation (on my PC please) explaining why, I'll be
interested to hear what he has to say.

TWIT. Apt. ;-)
