plz explain this error message

"An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this
request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify
your source file appropriately."

i am getting this error for the form authentication page.

It sounds like your ASPX page was not parsed correctly. Verify your Page
directive in the page in question.
