plugging in usb 1.1 in 2.0 makes all ports/devices run at 1.1?

If my computer has all 2.0 USB ports and I plug in a device that is
1.1, will this make all of my computer USB ports only operate at 1.1
speeds?

Thanks.

Not to worry. USB 2.0 ports are backwards compatible, so they can run USB
1.1 devices at the lower speed.

You misunderstand me. If I plug in the 1.1 device, are all of my other
ports FORCED to run at 1.1.

A guy at work is saying that he had a 1.1 mouse plugged into a 2.0
port, this forced his 2.0 printer which was plugged into a 2.0 port to
only run at 1.1.

I think he is wrong.

I guess you misunderstood me too, so I'll make it plainer:

"If I plug in the 1.1 device, are all of my other ports FORCED to run at
1.1."

No.
