Plextor PX-755SA DVD Writer

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I just installed Windows Vista Beta2 and I would have to say it works very
well so far. The only thing I have noticed is that the OS fails to detect my
Plextor PX-755SA DVD Writer. My HDDs are working perfectly, and there are 4
SATA ports listed in the Device Manager. The drive worked perfectly when
installing.

I've tried scanning for hardware changes, and the option to install manually
is not available for Optical drives. Has anyone else had similar
difficulties?

Overall, I am very pleased with Vista (and Vista Media Center).

Thanks,
Kevin.

Simular occurance here, but i am using Plextor 716SA. MOBO is Asus A8N-E.
I had HDD connected to SATA1 -SATA2 and Plextor 716SA on SATA3 as well as a
second 716SA on SATA 3.
I could not load VISTA on Raid, very unstable. I finally loaded on non raid
drive on SATA1 but system would not Boot and 716SA on SATA3 would work poorly.

I found an APPENDUM to the Raid Manuel and it says if you have 4 SATA drives
connected, the boot drive must be set to SATA3. I swapped SATA2 and 3 and
have no problems now.

Try moving it to another SATA
