Please wait while Microsoft Outlook exits.

When I close Outlook 2000, the window that displays "Please wait while
Microsoft Outlook exits." always stays open. The outlook.exe in the process
list never shuts down.

I'm running Office 2000 on Windows XP Pro. outlook is connected to an
Exchange server 2000.

The user used to use Office 2003 but we had to give the license to another
user that needed the new features that Outlook 2003 offered.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, repairing the installation, I've
search the internet but all with no luck.

Can someone please help me.
