Please help!

A while ago I was messing with customizing my Outlook (running via Thunderbird). When I was done, I realized I had done something that caused my incoming emails to show words only. There are sometimes links, but no ad artwork or anything like that. Since that time I have tried a number of times to go through every customizing option trying to undo everything I did that day, to no avail. Has anyone ever seen this, or is there some way to completely return to the original configuration or something? Thanks.
