I have access 2002 and i am trying to change a text field
that is suppose to be a phone number. it currently looks
like this example 999-999-9999 I would like to remove the
alphas or the - so it would look like 9999999999 please
help me... 2002 is different from 97 and it is harder to
do this. JM

Open your form in design view

move to your phone field

In the text box property click on the tab "Data"

In the input mask copy and past one of the examples.

It depends on where the hyphens are coming from. Open the Table in
design view and select the field - what is its Format property? And
what is its Input Mask property? You may just need to clear these two
fields to display the actual raw data - or, the hyphens might actually
be stored in the table (instead of just being generated for display)
in which case you'll need an Update query.

Post these properties, and someone should be able to help!

In design mode, open the form that has your phone field.

Place your cursor in the phone field and in the property
box (if it isn't open, right click and click on
properties)

Select the data tab and under the data tab is the input
mask.

Copy and paste the mask you need into that field.C

Exit design mode.

Can you not just open the table, select the field (whole column), go ctrl+h
(find & replace) and replace all the "-"s with nothing?
Make sure the data type in text (I guess it must be) otherwise it won't
display leading zeros.
