Please help, trouble with the appearence

I don't know how many time i reinstalled Windows XP
professional and every time I get the same problem, after
a couple of day the typical rounded edges of the windows
disappear and only the classic windows style is displayed
in the display properties, I don't know if something is
wrong with my computer, or with the software, please help!
