Please help - Motherboard weird behaviour

Hi!

I have a P4S533 mobo with a 2.4 Ghz P4 cpu. I also have enermax 430W ps.

Since 3 days ago, while I play games or surf in the internet, my system
seems to be trying to shut down, i.e. it does
the identical sound than when it shuts down and also, right after, I hear
the identical sound like if my system was re-booting, i.e. like the sound of
system under power up, just before the "beep".

When this occurs, my system freezes temporarily, the system stops to
respond, however i do not loose any data. When this stops, my system goes
back to normal!! As of yet, my system has not shut down. However, i suspect
something is wrong with my mobo and will go worse if I do not do anything...

Could someone help me on this please?

I would open it up and see if all the cooling fans are on and the CPU
cooler is on right and working. You might have some other problem
like a Worm or virus. The power supply could also have gone bad or
maybe the video card is causing it to fail. 430W is not quite enough
power for a Nvidia 6800 if that is what you have. The 6800 is a giant
power sucking Pig.
