I constantly receive the error messgage:
OE removed access to the following unsafe attachment...

This occurs on most attachments and it is necessary for me
to open some of them.

Please advise.

Thank you.

I hate to be snippy, but jeeze we must see this a dozen times a day in
these groups.

Since you were capable of posting this question I would assume that you
have some knowledge of using computers and Windows software. Let's review
what you have...

The message clearly indicates that OE has removed access to the
attachments. Not Windows, not your ISP, not your Anti-Virus software.
So... if OE is doing this then either that's just the way it is and you're
stuck or it's an optional setting.

Now where would one look to see if it's an optional setting? How about
Tools - Options? And guess what? When viewing Tools - Options there is an
entire tab having to do with Security. Hmmm... maybe one of those items
mentions attachments.

Have a nice day :)

You can turn this security setting on or off in Outlook
Express using the following method:

1. In Outlook Express, click on Tools in the menu bar then
click on Options, and then the Security tab.

2. Click to place or remove a check mark from "Do not
allow attachments to be saved or opened that could
potentially be a virus". Click "OK".

If you do turn off this setting in order to access an
attachment that you want, please be sure to go back and
turn it back on again. This will protect you from viruses.
