please help...document save errors

Not sure which forum this belongs, but here goes:
I have a user that is experiencing SAVE issues. Whenever he saves a
document(.doc,.xcl,.ppt,.pdf) to his perdonal sub-folder on our network, a
copy, along with a shortcut pointing to the sub-folder is created on the root
of the network. If the doc is saved locally, no problem. Very strange. Can
anyone please help?

Have you stood by this user, have him/her explain exactly what he/she
is doing as you watch. This will eliminate user error.
Also does it happen in all applications this user saves from?
Does it happen to anyone else using the same application on the
network?
Does it happen if the user uses a different machine?
Have you checked all the options of the application are the same as a
system that does not disply this error?

Thanks Bart. I have physically gone through the process. This doesn't happen
if user logs in at anoither machine. This does not happen to anyone else. If
the user saves anything to the (any) network sub-folder, a copy, and shortcut
are also saved on the root of the network.
