PLEASE HELP! Adjusting Photo Contrast/Brightness ON THE FLY: Lexmark 5150

T

First-- many, many thanks in advance for ANY INSIGHT you might have!

I have a Lexmark x5150 Printer/Scanner that replaced an old Z52. On
the Z52, I was able to adjust the brightness/contrast/tones ON THE
FLY, PER PRINT JOB. That is, without editing and saving each photo, I
was able to change these settings for each batch of photographs I
printed at one time.

With the "new" Lexmark X5150, there is no such functionality in the
software they provide. Since I print many photos at once using an
index print function, the ability to adjust brightness/contrast on the
fly-- that is, as I set up each print job is critical. This allows me
to adjust for the type of photo paper I'm using, etc. without editing
100's of photos and resaving them.

Question-- is there a "Plug In" or older version of the X5150 software
that will allow for this? I even considered "Ink Saver" software plug
in just to try to get some ability to adjust my photos, but it only
does aggregate saving and does not really address my need-- to adjust
contrast/brightness only.

I want to thank you again for reading this and offering any insight
you may have! I will check this group regularly, or you may respond
directly to t_gatewood at y a h o o <dot> com

The free programs IRFANVIEW will adjust the brightness/contrast on a batch
of photos. You can set it to overwrite the originals or create new modified
copies somewhere else. It can also manipulate images in lots of other ways.

Probably the correct way to do what you want is to set up a profile for the
paper you are using.
