the computer but when I double click it the computer it shows not

Laptop can see other computers on network
if i do a net view \\laptop from other computers I get a system error

And Yes windows firewall is off And yes I di a complete Virus scan

Finally it worked a while ago and when I do a system restore to that
point I go through the whole procees and it I get a message that the

Good thought and indeed earlier this week that was the case but I shut
down the offending machine. COuld it have left a residual problem?

Only error I found was

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local
Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{0C0A3666-30C9-11D0-8F20-00805F2CD064}

(S-1-5-21-573530398-907476264-2720856260-1018). This security
permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative
tool.
