Please enter a valid file

Just bought office pro. 2007, I am new to the computer world. When I try to
upload my assignment from word to my blackboard at school, I get a box that
says "Please Enter A Valid File". What do I need to do? This has been going
on for some time. No help from MS! Never had this problem with my 2003 office
pro.

Word 2007 has a different native file format that is not compatible with
your blackboard application. Save the document from Word 2007 as Word
97-2003 format.

No help from MS??? Exactly what do you expect MS to know about
YOUR blackboard at YOUR school?

Because you claim to have had no problems uploading Word 2003
files to your blackboard at your school, but can't upload Word
2007 files to your blackboard at your school, my guess is that it
is because Word 2007 creates files in a new file format
identified with a .docx filename extension, and your blackboard
at your school doesn't quite know what to do with Word 2007 .docx
files. So when you work on Word 2007 files that you intend to
upload to your blackboard at your school, you should click on
Office Button | Save As | Word 97-2003 Document.

I have check with the tech. dept. at school and they cannot find the
problem, as well as MS. I downloaded my 2003 back into it a little while ago
and it does the same thing.

Actually, the problem is your web browser. If you try to upload a file in the latest versions of Firefox, IE, and Google Chrome you will get this error. The workaround is to use earlier versions of Firefox and IE (such as 2 and 7 respectively). Alternatively, you can install the User Agent Switcher addon for Firefox and set up a new user agent for blackboard.
