playing music CD for a certain number of slides (Advanced question

I am trying to add music from a cd to powerpoint 2002. I have 9 tracks and I
need to play each for a certain number of slides. I thought this would be no
problem. It would seem to be easy to set up and so I have inserted 9 music
objects each into the slide that I want that track to start on and I have set
the file to stop after the desired number of tracks. I have also set the
custom animation to start the sound with the first object because this is the
only way I know to have the automatic slide advance continue to function.

Needless to say not all is well. The first instance of sound which starts
on track one works perfectly and stops after 15 slides like it is supposed
to. All of the rest, however will not continue to play, that is, they will
start and they will play for only the slide that they are posted on. Each
slide is set to show for 9 seconds and then advance to the next slide. As
soon as it advances the music stops.

The hardest part for me to understand is that if it works for the first
instance why will it not work for any other instance? Any Ideas?

I have already made sure that all settings are the same. I have also tried
copying the first instance to other slides and I still have the same problem.
