I want to use Nero Showtime or Windows Media Player to play DVDs on my
TV using the TV out on my Radeon 9250 card.

Any one know if its possible? If so, what do I do? If not, is there a
free downloadable DVD player which is recommeneded?

All media players that playback DVD's on your PC's monitor
will also playback via a TV set, all you have to do is *activate*
your cards S-Video port. this is done in Radeon's entry in
Control panel
Your card also has a DVI connector, if you intend to connect to
a large screen plasma/LCD which is equipped with a HDMI, all
you require is a readily available - and affordable DVI-HDMI adapter.

Well, excuuuuse me Mr Hughes for being another dumb
Newbie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did actually say 'thanks decoder' & since my orginal question
specifically mentioned playing DVDs out to my TV & did not refer to a
problem seeing the output of the PC on a TV ,I don't think your
exclamation marks & attitude are necessary.

As for your suggestion, the link is to instructions to change the
settings of a N-vidia card & therefore not terribly useful.

However for anybody who has an ATI Radeon 9250 card they should go into
the ATI Settings, then the Superposition menu & select the Theatre
mode, you will then get a perfect picture on your TV as well as being
able to see the DVD on your PC monitor.

Excellent that you've solved the issue, and thanx for posting the solution,
I've noted it for future reference.
