Playing DVD movies via TV out

Kev

I have connected my computer to my TV to watch DVDs on my
TV. I have tried PowerDVD, Media Player 9 and WinFast
DVD. However, each one plays the audio fine, and plays
the video fine on my PC, but the TV only plays the audio,
the TV screen is just blank.

I have connected via S-Video and made the relevant
settings in the Display properties - I have it currently
set to clone. The TV picture shows the computer output
at all other times, but not when DVDs are playing.

The only thing I can think is it is a copy protection
problem, but I didn't think this was an issue. I am only
watching my own DVDs (or trying to). Anyone help?

Can you view a video file saved on the pc via the tv out? It may be that the
pc cannot display video overlay on two screens, try setting the tv output as
the only one.

Thanks Graham

It was the overlay problem you have suggested. I have
set my TV to the primary display and it works fine now,
the video plays on the TV, but not the PC, which is what
I wanted. Thanks ever so much for your help.
