Placement of FSMO Roles

L

lab

Just wanted to have resources to verify placement of FSMO
roles in a one domain (2dc), one site, one forest setup.
My thoughts are to place GC on both DC, PDC Emulator/RID
master on DC1 and Schema Master, Infra Master, and Domain
Naming Master on DC2. We used a migration machine so that
we could put Win2K on our orginial NT4 PDC and BDC from
scratch. All roles right now are still on the migration
machine. We want to move the roles to the new Win2K DC's
and then dcpromo the migration machine out of the domain.
Are we on the right track? Any resources or suggestion on
the process we are using and the placment of FSMO roles?
Thanks

You've got it! You could even throw the roles all on one DC if you wanted,
you don't have a high load setup by the looks of it.

Well, just to add, the GC should be on the DNM but not the IM or the IM will
fail to do it's job. But if there's only one domain, then it doesn't matter.
