Pixelated pictures using IE 6

P

P.K

I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 5150 with a 15" SXGA
monitor.

I have had no problems with videos, pictures, 3-d gaming,
except when it came to loading pictures in IE 6, which
appear incredibly pixelated.

I am sure this is an IE 6 problem, but I have no idea why
this is happening.

I was thinking it might be a JPEG compression error?

I am running my computer at 1400 x 1050 resolution, and
am using a 64mb GeForce4 FX Go5200.

Thank you in advance for all you help, it is much
appreciated.

PK,

I *just* got my Inspiron 5150 today, and I have the exact same
problem. Did you ever find a solution? Any help you could provide
would be much appreciated!

Yeah, I tried that. Downloaded the latest drivers from Dell -- no help.

Any other ideas?

Found it.

There is a setting that Dell turns on that effectively "stretches" web
content within IE 6 to fill the larger LCD screens. There's a
registry edit you need to do in order to turn it off. I found it on
Dell's support web site:

Hope this helps someone else...
