Pivot Table

Could someone please explain in my table below as a example
i wont to make my pivot table have name and age


Name Age
jimmy 12
alfie 23
fred 34

When I drag Age to drop data items here I get sum of age instead of
the age corresponding to the name




Sum of age
Name Total
jimmy 12
fred 34
alfie 23
Grand Tota 69

in this case what do you want as a result from the pivot table. Your
source data has all the information. what additional result do you
expect from the pivot table?

If you want to see the age, without summarizing the data, add the age to
the Row area, after the Name. If you have other fields that you do want
to summarize, add those fields to the Data area.
