Pivot Table Refresh wipes out all data

Leslie

I am stumped. I have inherited a spreadsheet. There is
one data sheet and several pivot sheets off that data.
If I just hit the refresh button on any of the pivot
table sheets, all the data in the pivot table
disappears. If I create a new pivot table from the same
data, I can update all day long. Any ideas what might be
going on? Why can't I refresh this data?

That can happen if the headings in the source table have been changed at all
from what they were when the Table was first created.

Turns out that when I open this same file in Excel 97,
everything works fine. It's only in Excel 2002 that this
happens! Anyway to update the file to work under Excel
2002?

Thanks,
Leslie

Hmmm, OK you got me curious now. Is this a file you could send me to take a
look at? I'll happily try it all versions from 97 to 2003 and see if it does if
for me.
