Pivot Table not cooperating

I have a pivot table created from a large spreadsheet that has a customers
entire inventory. I cannot get the available inventory to just show the total
for that location when I put it in the data area of the pivot table. It
always wants to do count or sum, but when it does these it changes the totals
in the location. I cannot figure out how to correct this. Any ideas? Thank
you...

Can you give an example for one customer?
What's in the inventory table for that customer, and what would you like
to see in the pivot table?
What is the pivot table showing now?

My spreadsheet looks similar to as follows with about 5000 more lines

Item Location on hand hold pending available
12345 1010011A 300 100 100 100

The pivot table I'm trying to create would have similar information but
because some items have duplicate locations and all due to different inbound
dates, I am trying to clean it up and make it easier for the customer to see.
Basically on the page menu of the table I want to choose what Item I am
looking for and it would pull up location in the row part of the pivot table.
Then it would have the rest of the information in the data area
On hand hold pending available
300 100 100 100

I apologize for not lining those up correctly. I also for got to mention that
when I put the information in the data part of the pivot table it changes the
information I want to display from the table. If I choose available it uses
the sum funtion and that throws off the accuracy of what I am trying to
display.

Given example below, If there were supposed 3 of those lines it would show
300 in the available in each location for that item in the pivot table even
though I only had 100 in each location for my spreadsheet.

If you change the summary function to Max, does it give you the result
that you want?
