Pivot table: Most recent price for an item?

Pierre

Have lots of sales data, and would like to have a column display the
most recent price for an item.
Source data includes many shipments for various items, along with cost
and burden figures.

How might I populate within the pivot table, a column which gives the
most recent price for the item in that row?

TIA for thoughts.

I can tell you a formula that can return the last value entered in a row or
column. Will that work for you?

Gauray, I'll have a go at it. (I was hoping for something within the
PT that would draw in the most recent date, as that would preclude the
reconstruction of the table if fields are added or changed at a later
time.)

Thanks.

Found a way. In my source data, I sorted by shipped date, did a
lookup for that item in the price column and that found the most
recent price. I extended the range for the PT, added the column
containing the latest cost.
Thanks to all who pondered.
