ping : Carey Frisch - Explorer.exe Is Utilizing 99% of CPU

Ever since I began running XP, I have noticed that If I browse to a folder with a large number of video/media files, the explorer.exe task begins utilizing 99% of my CPU. This seems to occur no matter how the files are displayed, whether it be in an icon/thumbnail mode, or in the simplest mode possible, where it only lists the filenames. The only way I can correct the issue temporarily is to end the explorer task and reload. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

System Stats :

Windows XP Professional
3.2 Ghz Intel P4 w/HT (533 FSB model)
1 GB Dual Channel DDR
(2) WD Raptor 10000 RPM SATA Drives in RAID 0
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro

Thank you for your prompt responce. I will assume this fix requires a reg hack or other advanced OS modification and this is the reason why you have to contact MS.
