Years ago I used Packrat 1.4, a shareware that allowed to link entries:
the call notice, an adress, the appointment, but especially contacts. So
you were able to click on one contact and see who recommanded it, with
whom you spoke, the other members of his/her business association, etc.
The condition of course was that you first had to manually put a link
tag on two entries.

Packrat went out of service without any warning, and I got stranded with
their botched update (the shareware was excellent, the pro versions just
scrap).

Is there anything hidden in the freewares mentioned here, Time & Chaos,
EssentialPim, othesr ?? that can do the job ?

I would 'even' appreciate a hint for a shareware , because getting a
recommandation for this essential job tool is important for me.

I had a copy of Packrat, I think it was from Polaris software.
I liked it. MS Outlook, ACT seemed to take the market for this stuff.
If you can find an export function, use it to create .csv files, then import
them into Outlook.

Yiu're right. I even still have the old diskettes (for my digital museum).
But today I look more for a program that can replace it. So, ACT can do
this ?

Any freeware that can imitate ACT, especially in this functionality:
allow to link between contacts, infos, appointments so that I can see
who recommanded whom, who is linked to whom ?

ACT and Outlook both can do most of the same things as Packrat. They are not
freeware, but most people have Outlook on their computer. Packrat isn't
freeware either. I don't know of freeware that does the same things, but I
have seen some freeware PIMs posted on this group.
