Pictures don't show in document

I believe i have a "Curly braces, \, and * appear in the document" problem.
Not certain, though.

I placed a picture in a document. Instead of the picture, the following
appears:

{ INCLUDEPICTURE " cid:[email protected]" \*
MERGEFORMAT }

How do I get the actual picture to reappear like it use to. Also, this
appears to be the same with any document where I've inserted pictures, links
to pictures or simply typed an internet address or email address.

How did you place the picture in the document?

while "cid:[email protected]" is unlikely to
result in a picture being displayed, if you use Alt+F9 to toggle off the
display of field codes, does that field construction disappear?

My apologies. I should have noted that when I hit F9 with the control, alt
or shift keys, nothing happens.

I cut the picture from another word 2007 document and pasted it in the new
document. So that you know, it's logo art in a jpeg file.

Did the { INCLUDEPICTURE }come from the other document?

If so, in the other document, select the picture and then use Ctrl+Shift+F9,
which will convert that field construction to "ordinary text" (in this case,
it will cause the picture to be embedded in the document. You should then
be able to select it and copy and paste it into the document in which you
want it to appear.

This time it helped. Thank you. And, it appears it has cleared up the
problem in other documents as well. I greatly appreciate your help.
