Pictures do not show up in my document, just a box.

When I receive e-mail with a word attachment and there is a picture in it, I
never receive the picture, also cannot insert a picture. Just the box around
the picture shows up.
 
In Tools > Options > View, make sure "Picture placeholders" is unchecked.
