pictures disapearing

I'm putting together a presentation with a lot of pictures, most of
which I took and some that came off the web.

All the pictures have been copied to a folder on my hard drive, all are
in jpg format. When I set up the presentation everything looks good,
but when the slide show is run where some of the pictures should be
there is just a blank screen.

What is even odder is I transfered the troublesome pictures to another
computer and put them in a presentation. That slide show worked
perfectly. I than transfered that file back to my ThinkPad and the
slide show still worked perfectly.

I then copied some of the slides from the new presentation into my
project and when the slide show ran ... same problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jeff DeWitt

Hi Jeff,

which version of PowerPoint do you use? How did you insert the images? How
large is your presentation?

Please update Office with all available Service Packs (for Office 2003, this
is SP2). Never insert images with copy&paste, but use Insert - Imate - From
file instead. Don't use pictures in the size your camera offers you. Those
are fine for printing but far too large for PowerPoint. A width of 1000 to
1500 pixels is sufficient for use on slides.

Best regards,
Ute

First thing is to make sure you have all service packs for ppt.

Check in help > about msoft powerpoint

XP should say sp3
2003 should say sp2

help > check for updates to install
