pictures and hyperlinks in outlook 2002

outlook was fine til a month ago ...i did not change any
settings that i am aware of.
now , when i send a hyperlink it gets doubled between me
and the receiver.
also,if i send an inserted picture or "smiley" face in
the body of the message ,it gets turned into a hyperlink
that can not be opened by the receiving person i sent it
too.
I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF,SETTING,RESTORE,YOU
NAME IT,NOTHING IS GETTING THIS BACK THE WAY IT WAS
ORIGINALLY.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!

For the Smiley problem, check if you are using Word
as your editor.

If so, check in MS Word, TOOLS | OPTIONS
for a check mark next to PICTURE PLACEHOLDERS.
