Pictures and Adobe PE

I scanned photographs which are about 3 x 4 inches and
used Adobe PE to crop, format, save for web as jpg format.
I then inserted them into table in FP2002 page and used
the Auto Thumbnail feature. I have saved the pictures
within FP2002--embedded. Now when I click on the
thumbnail, the link is to a larger picture than the 3 x 4.
I don't understand how the 3 x 4 picture became a larger
picture. If I go back to the original picture, it is 3 x
4.

Any clues?
Thanks,
Susan

No clue. I too use PE2 and FP2002. One of my pages uses LOTS of photos but I
don't think I used the Auto Thumbnail function. All I know is the photos are
the size I wanted/needed them to be.

generally pictures on the web aren't 3x4 or any other measurement than
pixels. the reason is this, a picture that prints out 3"x4" at 300dip is
going to be a heck of a lot bigger on a monitor that displays only 72dpi.

give a link to this page you've made.

Several things going wrong here. With web pages we use pixels, not inches
for determing the size. I happen to use 450 - 500 for width on a hirizontal
photo or 450 height for a vertical. Also your images need to be imported
before putting them on your pages. FP will often over compress them (read
ruin) in the embedding process. Here's a tutorial which I hope will set you
straight:

This is beginning to make sense to me. If I view the
picture in Adobe as Print Size, it is about 3 x 4 inches.
However if I use actual pixels, the picture is huge. So I
have been confusing print size and pixels which is what
web uses. Thanks!
