PICTURE RESOLUTION

P

Peter

I am using Powerpoint to illustrate a book. After drawing a picture I
have tried exporting it as a TIF file but the resolution seems very low
- curved lines a jagged.
If I print the picture from Powerpoint onto photo paper there are NO
jagged curves, the resolution seems to be higher. I then scan the print
and save it as a TIF file.

There must be an easier way of getting a high res output.
Any ideas?

If you keep doing that, you'll grow hair on your palms and soon go mad.
And that's the *good* news.

Seriously, while PPT is a great tool for giving presentations, there are a lot
of far better apps for serious drawing. Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator and
others are far better suited for anything but the most casual drawing tasks.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way ...

You're better off exporting as WMF or EMF (which will keep your lines and
curves as lines rather than converting them to dots) but if you need a bitmap
image for some other reason, have a peek here:

I'd go with PNG instead of TIFF. Powerpoint's TIFFies are IFFy at times. You
can always convert to TIFF in some other program with no loss.

Be sure to shave before you touch that mouse again. ;-)
