picture replacing pictures

I'm creating a wedding slideshow for a friend and I'm having problems when I
add new pictures suddenly other pictures are replaced and/or become big red
X's. I've tried compressing the pictures and this doesn't help.

Does anyone have a suggestion. I'm down to the wire and can't get all the
pictures she wants in the presentation. I'm currently probably close to 200
pictures.

Put them in multiple slide shows and create a menu. See Taj's tutorial:
