picture images i forward appear as blank boxes

i can receive emails with picture images, however, i when i forward them,
they are received as a blank box with a red x in them. Hence, i cannot
forward any pictures or charactures i have been sent. I have sought
solutions but i cannot discern how to repair this.

e-mail client you're using (Outlook? Outlook Express? Windows Mail?)
