I just installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 on my computer with Windows XP.
Now when I double click a jpg or bmp it opens up Photoshop Elements to
display the picture. I only want to use the Elements editor when I explicitly
run the Photoshop program. Any other time when I click on a file I would like
to use the program that came with XP to view the pictures. How can I change
this. Adobe wants $39 for tech support to resolve this. They presumed I would
want to use their product for all my display needs. If I can't get around
this I am taking the product back.

Right-click on a file, select "Properties",
under the "General" tab select "Open with",
select "Change", select "Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer", place a check next to
"Always use the selected program to open
this kind of file", then click Apply.

Rt click on jpg>select Open With>Choose Program>Select Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer and check the box " Always use this Program for this type
of file " Click OK. You may have to perform the same procedure for bmp
files.
