Picture as a background - removing

Once you place a picture in the background, is there a way to get rid of it?
Thanks.
 
If it is physically the background of the slide and not an image placed on
the slide, click "Format", "Background", and change the slide background
color to whatever you want instead of the image.

Format, Background and choose a flat color or white.
