Picture and Fax viewer background colour?

Is there any way to specify a background color for the Picture and Fax
Viewer program included in Windows XP?

It's hard to tell if GIF's have transparent backgrounds when White is the
background colour.

Give Irfanview a try, for viewing GIF (and most other) image files. It has
a "background color" option under OPTIONS|PROPERTIES|VIEW tab. This is an
amazing FREEware utility.
