Pick up function

Hi,

Column 1 contains group numbers and column 2 contains values for groups.For
example

Group Value
1 124
2 23
5 256
1 11
10 33
2 245
3 11
2 10

What kind of function should I use to pick up e.g. a sum of group 2 values
(278)?

=SUMIF(A:A,2,B:B)

How are you getting 278 from what you have listed? You have a 22 by group 2

I assume that the 278 is 23+245+10. I don't know where you're seeing 22,
