Physical Memory Dump

I have had an on going problem as soon as I got the parts for my new
system.
I know how a computer works, so please do not act like I don't know
what I'm doing,i have assembled several systems, but have never got
this error. It is either power problems or Ram problems, but I want to
get another opinion. Please reply ASAP!!!!

Here is my system:

Athlon XP 2000+ (1.67 GHZ)
Windows 2000, then Windows XP
Western Digital 160 GB Hard Drive
512 MB RAM (this may be my problem)
Biostar ATX Motherboard (M7NCD)
2 80 mm case fans

My problem is I get an error message when:

1. During Installation of Win 2000
2. Installing programs in Win 2000 (my processor is NOT overheating)
3. Also during installation of SMALL or large programs my system just
restarts with no warning, and also with regular "multitasking" it
restarts unexpectedly.
4. Also when I choose shutdown from the start menu my computer
RESTARTS, it doesn't shutdown.
4. During Installation of Win XP

Now I can't install Win XP because it keeps doing this every time I
try to install it. Is my RAM bad or what?

Here is the error, it is a blue screen with white lettering:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage
to your computer.

BAD_POOL_CALLER

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software
manufacturer
for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
select Safe Mode.

You didn't mention what parts but since it started when you installed them
you're spot on that this is most likely the cause.

Athlon XP 2000 CPU
512 MB RAM
160 GB Hard Drive
Biostar ATX Motherboard
2 80 mm fans

I also got a problem today that said windows was shutting down my
computer to prevent damage to my computer.

It mentioned BIOS caching and shadowing: I disabled shadowing as it
told me
it also said "something is trying to write to read-only memory"
