PhotoStory 3 : is using 16/9 frames possibe ?

Hello,
I would like to have my PhotoStory3 movie sent to a 16/9 projector directly
from my computer.
I made some modifications on templates so that the result is 1280*720
(16/9), but, as the starting frame in photostory is **always** 4/3, the
result is badly stretched...

Does anybody knows a way to say to photostory that the frame shown in
'remove black parts' or 'starting and ending position'... (sorry, I'm using
french version and these are not perfect translations) has to be related to
the final resolution ?

I searched in many groups, and nowhere that point is discussed...

Thanks in advance,
Sylvain.

John,

Thank you for your answer, but it is not helpful.
I already found these profiles, and these are all 4/3 format (1280/1024,
1024/768, 800/600, 640/480...).

Instead, i used my own made profile with 1280/720 (16/9 format), but the
picture is stretched because the default source format is 4/3 in photostory.

So I'm still with that question :

How can one change the default source format ? I mean not the picture format
itself which is not a problem, but the frame shown in 'remove black parts' or
'starting and ending position'.

Yours,
Sylvain.

Sorry, I thought the info would be useful and
there are some 16:9 profiles on the following
page:

Photo Story 3 - Saving and Distributing
http://www.papajohn.org/PS3-Saving.html

Something to try....
Since PS3 will stretch a 16:9 image....why not
try cropping to 16:9 and then resize to compress
the image.

Example...
Begin with 5MP source files / 2592x1944
Crop to 16:9 = 2592x1458
Resize to: 1944x1458

Yuck!!! Now the images look compressed...but
guess what? PhotoStory will stretch them when it
saves to the widescreen 16:9 profile.

You can play with the numbers but maybe this
is one step closer to where you are trying to go.

John,

You are right, it works with that idea :
I stretched my picture form its original size to 133% ONLY in its height,
not in the width, as going from 4/3 to 16/9 is multiplying to 4/3 (=1.3333)

I would rather use stretching from original size to big size instead of from
original to small, because I want to loose as few quality as possible.

The result is a stretched image viewed in Photostory, but a perfect size
image in the result, when using a 16/9 profile.

bad things is :
- 2 degradations : 1st with the first stretching done by me and another one
on the compressing done by photostory.

Seems to work enough for me to close that point.
Let's see if Microsoft think about that point in the next release, and put a
16/9 frame in the interface !

Thank you again, John.
Sylvain.
